Balasore – Police today arrested three persons including a police official’s son in connection with firing at a newly opened hotel at OT Road here. The incident had occurred on 8th of July,within 24 hours after the inauguration of the hotel by Balasore Police SP and other eminent personalities.
Police had claimed to have arrested main accused Jajan panigrahi alias sipun (20) and two of his close associates Sandip kumar Pati(19) alias lipun and a juvenile from Raipur city of Chattisgarh
The accused were arrested after series of raids by police. They were absconding after the incident.
A case was registered in sadar PS here by owner of the hotel Sudarshan pradhan. The accused jajan demanded a ransom of Rs 15 lacs from the owner in lieu of protection money. Failing to give the money, on the night of 8th July, jajan and two of his accomplice came on a pulsar bike and opened firing at the gate of the hotel. Nobody was injured in the incident. However, one rear glass of the hotel was damaged and one pallet passed by the side of a guest present there. After the incident the general public of the town were terrorized.
Six mobile phones, 3 fired ammunition (khoka) and a black pulsar have been seized from the accused, said SP B. Jugal Kishore
