Cyclone ‘Titli’- Six Persons Missing in Ganjam, As House Gets Swept Away By Flash Flood

Ganjam:Seems Odisha administration missed its deadline of zero casualty target this time in dealing with Cyclone.

Six persons including four of a family went missing after their house got swept away by flood waters of Adangi river following heavy rain triggered by very severe Cyclone ‘Titli’ in Ganjam district today.

The incident was reported from Bhutapankal village under Gajalbadi panchayat in Bhanjanagar Sub division in the district here.

As per initial reports,  six persons including four of a family- a couple and their son and daughter-in-law along with two other persons had taken shelter on the roof of the house when the tragedy occurred.

All of them went missing after the house constructed under Indira Awas scheme got swept away in flood waters of Adangi River following heavy rainfall in the area.

After the incident of Missing was reported , Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange  directed officials for rescue operations.

However, the ongoing rescue operations were affected due to inclement weather and heavy rain in the area.
