Cuttack/Athagarh:The body of a female elephant was found near Taila village under Athagarh forest division here in the district this morning.
The jumbo is presumed to be aged about 7 years old.
The body of the animal was found lying in a pool of blood.
Reportedly,a herd of elephants had wandered into the farmlands from the nearby Rajnagar Sadar’s Taila area last night in search of food. While other jumbos had left,one of the pachyderms was found lying in the middle of the field with blood oozing out of its mouth.
However the exact reason of death is yet to be ascertained.After receiving information, the forest officials reached the spot for investigation.
