Odisha CM Orders Biju Pucca Ghar for 13,000 Titli affected Families

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday directed the authorities concerned to provide Biju Pucca Ghar to 13,000 families, whose houses were damaged during the severe cyclonic storm Titli on October 11, in 13 districts. These houses will be constructed under the State’s Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana.

 

Rs 176 crore has been estimated to be expended on the project from the State coffers, decision was taken at High Level meeting at State Secretariat

The Chief Minister has also directed to issue all the work orders on a specific date in all the blocks to the beneficiaries in order to maintain transparency as well as get the work completed in an expeditious manner.

It was also decided that local businessmen and self-help groups (SHGs) will be engaged to carry out the house construction work in an expeditious manner, said an official. It was decided that the concerned SHGs will be provided extra financial assistance.

The State government will urge the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to provide livelihood facility to the cyclone-affected families and give training to the masons for making of the constructional materials
