Odisha CM Releases Hockey World Cup Anthem, Composer A R Rahman meets Naveen

Bhubaneswar:After the arrival of  Grammy and Academy Award-winning music maestro A R Rahman in the Odisha capital, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday released the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup anthem.

Receiving a rousing welcome at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here, the musical legend headed straight to Naveen Niwas, official residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

 

The singer discussed with the CM about his performance at the inaugural event of the world cup and also took selfie with him.  Rahman returned to Mumbai and will again come to the State Capital on November 27 morning.

Addressing mediapersons Rahman said, “We have released the video ‘Jai Hind’ in India and I wanted the Chief Minister to release it. The official Hockey anthem is on ITunes now and all of us can download.”

Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan will also share the dais with Rahman and perform in the anthem of the Hockey World Cup – ‘Jai Hind India’ – two teasers of which have been already released.

Veteran lyricist Gulzar has penned ‘Jai Hind India.’

“We are delighted that A R Rahman ji is here with us in Odisha. We are very lucky that he will be performing at two places, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Millions of his fans in Odisha are looking forward to listen to the music maestro,” the Chief Minister said.
