School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond announced on Saturday that more than 95 per cent of the 5.36 lakh students who appeared for the Odisha Class 10 board examinations have successfully passed.
Along with the Odisha Class 10 board examination results, the minister also released the results for the Madhyama and State Open School Certificate (SOSC) examinations.
Gond said that while 5.44 lakh students who had registered for the Class 10 examination, 5.36 lakh took the tests, which were held at over 3,000 centres state-wide between February 19 and March 2.
He said the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) recorded a total of 5.19 lakh successful candidates, resulting in a pass percentage of 95.33 per cent.
The girl students outperformed their male counterparts this year, with 2,63,152 female candidates passing compared to 2,56,099 boys.
The minister said 2,456 students achieved an A1 grade, 15,681 earned A2, 43,565 received B1, and 86,103 secured B2.
Similarly, 1,29,813 students were awarded a C grade, 1,46,152 students received D, and 95,481 received an E grade.
On the other hand, 8,364 students were absent from the examinations, and 17,055 students did not pass.
Gond said a total of 3,310 schools across the state recorded a perfect 100 per cent success rate.
Among the districts, Gajapati achieved the highest pass percentage of 99.31 per cent, whereas Keonjhar reported the state’s lowest at 94.35 per cent.
Gond said that the board would begin issuing certificates in both Odia and English for the first time.
Students can check their results on the official BSE websites, bseodisha.ac.in and bseodisha.nic.in, starting from 7 pm.
BSE President Srikanta Tarai announced that registration for supplementary examination will take place between May 8 and May 18, with the actual tests scheduled for July.
Students can apply online for rechecking from Monday and may also obtain copies of their answer sheets, he added.
About 59.82 per cent students cleared the SOSC examination, while 87.3 per cent passed the Madhyama examination.
