Ganjam:Setting an example for others to follow, the collector of Ganjam district Vijay Amruta Kulange in Odisha went out of his way to work with farmers in a paddy field.
The public servant was visiting Bharasa village of Mathura panchayat under Khalikote block to review cultivation work under the National Food Security Act. While conversing with the local farmers engaged in plantation of paddy saplings, about loan and insurance, Kulange suddenly rolled his pants, went down in knee-deep muddy water and joined the farmers in planting paddy saplings.
The IAS officer exchanged tips on better output and other advantages of row plantation techniques and also planted many saplings.
This shocked the farmers who were busy in planting saplings,taking inspiration few officials also followed collectors footsteps and started planting saplings
