The Odisha government on Saturday said that four persons from the state remain untraceable following destructive flash floods in Nepal, while two others have safely reached India.
The untraceable persons have been identified as Sandeep Mohapatra and his wife Sidharthi Kumari Sahu from Khurda district, and Gunnam Sai Bindu Kumari and her young daughter Gunnam Hareskha from Bargarh district.
According to officials, Mohapatra and Sahu have been staying in Australia since 2018.
Meanwhile, Gunnam Jay Krishna, husband of Sai Bindu Kumari, is safe in Nepal, and state authorities have shared his location details with the Ministry of External Affairs to help facilitate direct contact with him, they said.
Family members said that Jay Krishna has been working with Andritz Hydropower in Nepal’s Upper Trishuli region for the past six years.
On the other hand, Kulsum Nigar from Baripada in Mayurbhanj district and Deepika Ekka from Sundargarh district have reached Raxaul safely and re-entered Indian territory, officials stated.
Additionally, state coach Halim and six Odisha football players are safe in Pokhara, where the state team clinched first position in a local tournament.
