The Odisha government on Saturday announced a major monthly incentive for dentists under the Odisha Medical Services Cadre.
According to an official notification issued by the Odisha Health and Family Welfare Department, postgraduate-qualified dentists from medical colleges recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) will receive a monthly incentive of Rs 20,000.
Effective from August 29, the financial incentive will be provided to dental surgeons under the Health and Family Welfare Department who hold postgraduate degrees from NMC-recognised medical institutions.
Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling stated that the incentive is aimed at encouraging specialised postgraduate dentists to remain within and actively contribute to the state’s public healthcare infrastructure.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, meanwhile, stated the monthly incentive would help strengthen the dental healthcare system in Odisha and improve the availability of specialised dental services for people across the state.
