The monsoon session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly is scheduled to begin on September 22 and conclude on October 3, officials informed on Tuesday.

According to the provisional calendar issued by the assembly secretariat, the session will have a total of eight official business days.

Several key legislative and administrative issues are expected to dominate the proceeding in the upcoming session, including the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, the flood situation in the state, school textbook errors and students union elections, the officials said.

Of the scheduled period, there will be one holiday and two no-meeting days.

This year’s monsoon session has seen a delay compared to previous schedules. In 2025, the assembly’s monsoon session was held from September 18 to 24.

The Opposition is likely to corner the ruling BJP over the MMDR issue in the upcoming Monsoon Session. Earlier, Opposition parties had demanded a two-day special session of the Assembly to discuss the matter.

The ruling BJP-led government, meanwhile, said it is fully prepared to respond to all questions and issues raised by the Opposition in the assembly session.
