Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday approved a revision in the daily allowance for Home Guards, raising their Duty Call-up Allowance (DCA) from Rs 639 to Rs 650, according to an official release.
The state government said that the revised allowance will be implemented retrospectively, coming into effect from January 1, 2026. This marks the second increment hike in recent months, following a previous increase on July 1, 2025, which saw the DCA for home guards go up from Rs 623 to Rs 639.
The decision closely follows the state government’s recent announcement of an additional 2 per cent increase in dearness allowance (DA) for its regular employees, which also took effect on January 1, 2026.
Keeping in view the interest of home guards and the DA revision for regular employees, Majhi approved the fresh increase in the DCA for Home Guards, the release said.
