A special screening of Bharat Bhagya Vidhata, the highly anticipated movie starring actor-politician Kangana Ranaut, was held in Bhubaneswar. The high-profile event was attended by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, and the BJP MP-actress herself.
Addressing the media at the screening, the Queen star highlighted that the film serves as a tribute to the millions of unsung heroes whose daily toil builds the nation’s future behind the scenes.
Underscoring the significance of the movie’s core message, Ranaut shared that she has requested the state government to exempt the film from entertainment tax, noting that she received encouraging feedback regarding the proposal.
“This film is dedicated to those who shape India’s destiny; that is why I have demanded that it be made tax-free. I have been assured that the film will be made tax-free,” Kangana said.
During the film’s trailer launch earlier, the actress had shared that the title of the movie draws inspiration from a phrase coined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to honour the working class.
“The name Bharat Bhagya Vidhata was given by the Prime Minister in 2025. He named the specially-abled as ‘Divyangjan’. He also changed the name of the scheme for widows to ‘Kalyani’. The workers who make things with their hands were named ‘Vishwakarma’. In the same manner, he named the labourers as ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’. This touched our hearts, and thus we wanted to keep it as our title,” Kangana said.
In Bharat Bhagya Vidhata, Ranaut is playing the role of a staff nurse, portraying an everyday woman whose quiet dedication and contributions to society typically go uncelebrated.
