Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Women & Child Development and Mission Shakti Minister Pravati Parida inaugurated the District Subhadra Shakti Kendra in Puri on Saturday to foster women entrepreneurship and build stronger market linkages for goods produced by women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
The Deputy Chief Minister also participated in the regional ‘Subhadra Shakti Vision Sammilani’ held at the Swaminarayan Temple in Puri, where she engaged in discussions with members of Block Level Federations (BLFs) across Puri, Cuttack, Khordha, and Nayagarh districts.
During the exchange, Parida praised the role of BLF members in driving women empowerment, financial independence, and community progress, while inviting feedback from attendees to further refine state-level women-centric development programs.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav disbursed credit assistance totalling Rs 300 crore to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across the state on Friday, while launching and laying foundation stones for developmental works valued at over Rs 283 crore in Jhabua district.
The Rs 300 crore funding was released under the Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission to strengthen self-help groups, with Rs 10.8 crore specifically allocated to 215 self-help groups in Jhabua district.
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for 29 new development projects valued at Rs 174.64 crore and dedicated 28 completed public works worth Rs 109.17 crore in Jhabua. Beyond handing over benefits under various state schemes, he honoured high-performing students and toured the ‘Aajeevika Mela’ trade pavilion during the event.
Speaking at the gathering, the Chief Minister remarked that Madhya Pradesh is advancing through the energy and support of women, underscoring the state’s emphasis on female upliftment via self-help groups and sustainable income-generating programs.
“Women’s empowerment is taking place at both the government and social levels. Women are strengthening self-help groups and playing an active role in agriculture, livestock, banking and enterprise facilitators. Madhya Pradesh is progressing with the strength and blessings of sisters,” the Chief Minister said.
