The Odisha government today, July 24, gave its approval to 23 new industrial projects, which is expected to bring a total investment of Rs 4,982 crore.

These initiatives are projected to generate approximately 12,000 employment opportunities across 12 districts of the state, according to a statement issued by the government.

The approvals were granted during a meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), presided over by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.

Among the key proposals approved is Vidya Minerals Pvt Ltd which is planning for an integrated steel plant in Sundargarh, involving an investment of Rs 620 crore. Similarly, Jatia Steel Ltd received approval to establish a steel structure manufacturing unit in Jajpur, with an outlay of Rs 451.90 crore.

In the renewable energy sector, Luminous Power Technologies Pvt Ltd has proposed to establish a solar cell and PV module manufacturing unit at Gopalpur, with an investment of Rs 950 crore, was also approved by the government today.

Additionally, the SLSWCA sanctioned significant investments from other companies, including KPR Mill Ltd’s Rs 350 crore project, Rs 320 crore proposal of Hindustan Aqua Pvt Ltd and Rs 300 crore project of BonV Technology Pvt Ltd.

“The projects approved in this SLSWCA meeting reflect the state’s focus on jobs, value addition, and regional growth. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Odisha is steadily moving towards a prosperous, future-ready economy, in line with the vision of ‘Samruddha’ (prosperous) Odisha vision 2036,” the statement added.
