Odisha Police on Sunday arrested two persons and seized 3,750 bottles of cough syrup, valued at approximately Rs 20 lakh, in the Sonepur district, according to officials.
Acting on a specific intelligence tip, a police team intercepted a van in Sonepur town and seized the cough syrup bottles hidden beneath crates of soft drinks, stated SP Narayan Nayak.
The contraband was meticulously concealed across 150 separate hidden compartments built into the vehicle, the SP stated.
Further investigation is underway.
