The Odisha government on Friday undertook a major bureaucratic reshuffle, involving 13 IAS officers, and relieving three senior officers for central deputation.

The new postings will be effective from October 13, according to two separate notifications issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance department on Friday, October 10.

Officers relieved for central deputation

The officers relieved by the state government for central deputation are –

• Shalini Pandit (2001 batch), commissioner-cum-secretary, School and Mass Education Department, and Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Mission Shakti Department.
• Samarth Verma, Director, Minor Minerals, and Managing Director, Odisha Film Development Corporation.
• Swadha Dev Singh, Managing Director, Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation Ltd, and Additional Secretary, Water Resources Department.

IAS reshuffle: Key transfers and appointments

The following are the key changes in the state bureaucracy:

• Girish S N, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, has been appointed as Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Mission Shakti Department, replacing Shalini Pandit.
• N Thirumala Naik, Vice-Chairman of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), will take over as Commissioner-cum-Secretary, School and Mass Education Department.
• Mansi Nimbhal, Director of Tourism, will take charge as Managing Director, Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation.
• Surendra Kumar Meena will join ST&SC Development, Minorities & Backwards Classes Welfare Department as Additional Secretary.
• Subhashree Nanda has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Planning & Convergence Department.
• Chanchal Rana, Commissioner, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, who will hold additional charge of Vice-Chairman, Bhubaneswar Development Authority, and Managing Director, Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited.
• Premjit Nayak (IAS, SCS-2014) is now Director, Scheduled Tribes Department.
• Deepankar Mohapatra (IAS, NSCS-2014) has been moved from CEO, Hockey Promotion Council to Director, Tourism & MD, OTDC.
• Pranati Chhotray (IAS, NSCS-2014) has been appointed Additional Secretary, Home Department. He was previously MD of Boyanika & Director, Handicrafts.
• Nivedita Prusty (IAS, SCS-2015) has been appointed MD, Boyanika, while retaining charge of Director, Handicrafts.
• Madhusmita Samal (IAS, NSCS-2015) is appointed Additional Secretary, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water, retaining charge of Director, SIRD.
• Sanjay Kumar Biswal (IAS, NSCS-2015) moves from Manager (Admin), CRUT to Additional Secretary, Commerce & Transport Department.
• Kanhu Charan Dhir (OAS, SS), previously Private Secretary to Deputy CM, has been appointed Director, Minor Minerals Department.
