The Odisha government is set to host the Odisha Pharma Summit 2025 in Bhubaneswar on December 16, a major event designed to bring stakeholders from the pharmaceutical and medical devices industries under one roof to explore investment and growth opportunities within the state.
The summit will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. A key highlight of the event will be the official launch of the Odisha Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Policy 2025, an official said on Sunday.
The new policy is specifically designed to boost the life sciences sector by attracting significant investments, enhancing the ease of doing business, and generating large-scale employment opportunities, the official said.
During the programme, the government is also expected to announce plans for developing a dedicated Pharmaceutical Park and a Medical Devices Park. These parks aim to strengthen the state’s healthcare manufacturing infrastructure and actively promote industry expansion, they said.
Furthermore, the event will also witness the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the state government and leading companies, underscoring a critical step towards solidifying Odisha’s pharmaceutical and medical devices ecosystem.
Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain said, “Odisha welcomes all pharma, medical devices & related sector industries, investors, and thought leaders to join us at this summit. We are committed to building a strong, future-ready ecosystem that supports growth, innovation, and global competitiveness.”
The government is encouraging all healthcare and industry enthusiasts to participate in the significant initiative shaping the future of the sector in Odisha, he said.
