More than seven lakh farmers in Odisha have enrolled for the Kharif 2026-27 paddy procurement season, as the state government calls on all eligible farmers to complete their registration ahead of the deadline on August 31.
Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra said that the registration drive is progressing smoothly across the state after being streamlined to ensure a seamless experience for farmers.
The minister appealed to those farmers who have not yet registered to complete the registration process before the upcoming deadline to ensure their participation in the upcoming Kharif paddy procurement drive.
“Over seven lakh farmers have successfully registered so far. The procedure has been simplified, and farmers are encountering no major difficulties,” Patra stated.
Farmers have been instructed to gather their necessary documents and visit their local Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), Large Area Multipurpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPS), or Pani Panchayats to complete their registration.
Patra emphasized that farmers should refrain from delaying until the final date, urging those who remain unregistered to execute the paperwork as soon as possible.
The minister further assured farmers that the enrollment drive will continue to run smoothly and stated that the state government will purchase paddy from all registered farmers under the Kharif 2026-27 procurement programme.
With the registration window set to close on August 31, the government has reiterated its call for all eligible, unregistered farmers to complete the formalities within the stipulated timeline.
