Bhubaneswar- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched Odisha government’s ambitious Subhadra Yojana the flagship program of the Mohan Majhi Government
The state government has successfully transferred a total of Rs 1,250 crore to the bank accounts of more than 25 lakh women beneficiaries under the Subhadra scheme.
Speaking on the occasion PM Modi said Empowerment Of Women Key To Odisha’s Progress, the new BJP government in the state has gifted the scheme to the women which will benefit over one crore beneficiaries. Under the scheme, the women beneficiaries will get financial assistance of Rs 50000 in instalments, he said at the mega event held at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar, as the crowd cheered ‘Modi Modi’.
The beneficiaries will receive Rs 10,000 in their bank accounts in two instalments in a year under the scheme. The money will be credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and International Women’s Day (March 8). They will get Rs 50,000 in five years under Subhadra Yojana.
The women-centric scheme will benefit eligible beneficiaries between 21-60 years old
The scheme will be implemented within 2024-25 and 2028-29 financial years. The state government has made an outlay of Rs 55, 825 crore for this purpose.
Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy CMs K V Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Jual Oram and other MPs and Ministers were present at the event.
More than 70,000 women are present in the launching program. There excitement knows no bound as they were about to get their first instalment of Rs 5,000 today.
Over 74 lakh women have already registered for the Subhadra Yojana, informed Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida.
Before launching Subhadra Yojana, Prime Minister visited Gadakana Village to meet with the PMAY Beneficiary , there he was treated to Odisha’s popular sweet delicacy ‘kheeri’ on his birthday to launch ‘Griha Pravesh’ ceremony for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana beneficiaries
