He stated that the completion of these residences has now ensured adequate housing availability for Lok Sabha Members near the Parliament House, enabling them to work with greater efficiency and focus on their parliamentary duties without delay in allotment.
Birla highlighted that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the last eleven years have witnessed transformative changes, including the timely construction of the new Parliament Building, the installation of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s statue at Kartavya Path, and the development of landmark public infrastructure such as the National War Memorial, Police Memorial, Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi and Kartavya Bhawan.
The Speaker noted that inspired by the Prime Minister’s vision, 344 new houses have been built for Lok Sabha Members in the last eleven years. The four towers in the newly inaugurated complex named Kosi, Krishna, Godavari and Hooghly—symbolize India’s cultural richness, diversity and unity, he stated.
Built using modern construction technology with regular monitoring, the project was completed ahead of schedule with savings of approximately Rs 46 crore.
He extended appreciation to the Lok Sabha Secretariat, the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, CPWD, and the engineers and workers whose dedicated efforts ensured timely completion.
Designed as a self-sufficient residential complex, the project incorporates green technologies and adheres to GRIHA 3-star rating standards and the National Building Code (NBC) 2016.
Features include energy-efficient systems, power backup, renewable energy generation, effective waste management, earthquake-resistant structures, Divyang-friendly facilities, and robust security systems. Each unit provides adequate space for residential and official purposes, with additional facilities such as office areas, staff accommodation, and a community center.
