RHI Magnesita and Khemka Refractories have entered into a joint venture to establish a greenfield refractory recycling plant in Odisha.
In a statement on Wednesday, RHI Magnesita said that Jyotirmoy Bhattacharjee has been named Chief Executive Officer of the newly established joint venture, MINPRO.
The new firm will focus its operations on recovering, processing, and repurposing used refractory materials, supporting bolster the domestic supply of high-value raw materials required for refractory production.
RHI Magnesita said the JV will build the greenfield recycling plant in Odisha, though it did not disclose additional specifics regarding the project.

Refractories are specialized, heat-resistant materials essential to manufacturing steel, cement, copper, aluminium, non-ferrous metals, and glass.
Engineered to withstand extreme temperatures reaching up to 1,200 degrees, refractories rely primarily on alumina and magnesia as core raw materials.
