Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Saturday announced that the state government will begin accepting new applications for the ‘Subhadra Yojana,’ a flagship initiative dedicated to women’s empowerment.
Parida, who also oversees the Women and Child Development Department, said that the new application window will be open via the Subhadra portal for exactly one month, from April 1 to April 30. Eligible applicants must be within the age bracket of 21 to 60 years as of April 1.
Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, 2024, the scheme has so far covered more than 1 crore women beneficiaries, who are entitled to receive Rs 10,000 per annum in two installments for five years. Therefore, each beneficiary will get Rs 50,000 in five years, an official said.

The Deputy Chief Minister clarified that this specific registration phase is exclusively for women who have not previously applied for the scheme.
Submissions from individuals who have already applied in earlier phases will not be processed. New registrations will be facilitated through the Subhadra portal at Common Service Centres (CSC) or Ama Seva Kendras (ASK), according to the Minister.
The application forms will be available free of cost at all Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) and CDPO offices.
Parida said Subhadra Yojana stands as a landmark initiative for the empowerment of women in the state. The government has made all necessary arrangements to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out of the scheme, she added.
