A man, his wife, and their daughter were allegedly murdered by some relatives during a violent confrontation over a land dispute in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Sunday, according to police.
The brutal murder occurred in Nialijharan village, located within the Ghasipura police station limits in the district. Police have identified the deceased man as Jitendra Soren.
The victims were reportedly attacked with a sharp weapon by members of their own family. While the primary suspect has already been taken into custody, officials stated that a thorough investigation is required to ascertain the exact motive behind the triple homicide, the police officer said.
“Soon after getting information about the crime, our team from Ghasipura police station rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. As per preliminary information, three members of one family were killed. Further details are awaited,” Keonjhar SP Nitin Kusalkar said.
