Vice President C P Radhakrishnan is set to visit Odisha on July 9 to preside over the convocation ceremony of a central research institution and participate in various other official engagements, officials said.
On Saturday, Chief Secretary Anu Garg reviewed arrangements for the vice president’s visit, they said.
During his tour, Radhakrishnan attend the 15th convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) as the chief guest. Additionally, he is scheduled to attend the national launch programme of the ‘Letter of Authorisation’ initiative, which permits Indian-flagged vessels to legally pursue deep-sea fishing in international waters.
To ensure a seamless schedule, Garg instructed all relevant department to ensure close inter-departmental coordination during the Vice President’s itineraries, the officials added.
The top bureaucrat specifically asked authorities to provide stringent, multi-layer security, continuous electricity and water supply, fire safety measures, regular sanitation drives, proper road maintenance, dedicated emergency medical facilities, and seamless protocol deployment throughout the duration of his stay.
