Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Odisha on Friday morning for his first official visit to the state. During the visit, he is scheduled to attend the birth anniversary celebrations of the iconic freedom fighter, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

The Vice President arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar at around 8.30 am. He was formally received by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati before departing for Cuttack via road.

The Vice President is scheduled to visit the Netaji Birthplace Museum in Cuttack and participate in events marking the legendary freedom fighter’s birth anniversary.

The Vice President will also inaugurate a district cultural building located near the museum complex.

Following his engagements in Cuttack, Radhakrishnan is expected to return to Bhubaneswar for lunch. He is scheduled to depart for Kolkata at around 2 PM, the officials said.

Elaborate security arrangements are in place in view of Radhakrishnan’s visit, he added.
