Balasore: Nuclear-capable strategic\nballistic missile Agni-4 was successfully test fired in Odisha\u2019s Balasore\nDistrict on Sunday morning, Defence Research and Development Organisation\n(DRDO) release said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\ntest was carried out from the launch pad-4 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at\nDr Abdul Kalam Island <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nuser-trial of the missile was conducted by a mobile launcher at 8.30 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 4000 kms\nrange weighing\n17 missile is equipped with state\nof the art Avionics, 5th generation On Board Computer and distributed\narchitecture. It has the latest features to correct and guide itself for in\nflight disturbances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 20-meter-long surface-to-surface missile The\nmost accurate Ring Laser Gyro based Inertial Navigation System (RINS) supported\nby highly reliable redundant Micro Navigation System (MINGS) ensures the\nvehicle reaches the target within two digit accuracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nre-entry heat shield can withstand temperatures in the range of 4000 degree\ncentigrade and makes sure the avionics function normally with inside\ntemperature remaining less than 50 degree centigrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
