He said: \u201cThe Public Sectors are\nimportant for the development of India and these sectors need to be encouraged\nto prosper. The PSUs should be given freedom to take decisions and operate in\nsync with the market dynamics.\u201dHe stressed that Public Sectors should move\nbeyond profit making and should focus on the multi-dimensional objectives. There\nare certain sectors that can be explored and developed by Public Sectors only.PSUs\nalso need to be ready to compete in terms of commercial principles, he added.\n\u201cIndia should recognize the strength of the PSUs.\u201d Dr.Swamy said. He also\nappreciated NALCO\u2019s contribution,as an integrated business entity, towards\nIndian aluminium sector in particular and Indian Economy as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While\ndelivering the welcome address, Shri Sridhar Patra, CMD, said that as a Central\nPublic Sector, NALCO has always given priority to boost the country\u2019s economy\nand serve the interest of the Nation through continuous\nimprovement in production, productivity and profitability and also works beyond\nprofitability for promoting social and economic development through its CSR\narm. \u201cThe company is dedicated to work towards the sustainable development of the\nNation and Indian Industry in years to come,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among\nothers, the Directors of the NALCO, senior officials, guests from industry and\nacademia and former Nalconians were present on the occasion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bhubaneswar: Dr. Subramanian Swamy, eminent economist and Hon\u2019ble Member of Parliament has delivered the 18th Edition of NALCO Lecture Series on \u2018Relevance of PSUs in Shaping New India\u2019, here today.
