Day 2 of Union Home Minister Amit Shah visit to Odisha, starts his day with ‘Jalabhishek’ At Lingaraj Temple, accompanied by Dharmendra Pradhan

Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is on a two-day visit to Odisha, visited Lingaraj temple on Monday morning amid tight security and offered prayer to the Lord on the occasion of the last Monday of holy Shravan month today.

Shah performed ‘Jalabhishek’ this morning, the last auspicious Monday of the holy month of Shravan. He was accompanied by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Shah was given a rousing reception at Biju pattnaik Airport as soon as he landed at airport by top leaders including state party president Sameer Mohanty, MP Aparajita Sarangi, Baijayant  Jay Panda, Opposition chief whip Mohan Majhi including Party workers and general public.

Soon after landin in Bhubaneswar the Home Minister Tweeted, Landed in Bhubaneswar. Looking forward to attending various programs in Odisha. I am grateful to the people of Bhubaneswar for the warm welcome,”

Following his visit to Lingaraj temple, shah will head towards Cuttack where he will visit Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birthplace in Cuttack.

Shah will pay tribute by garlanding his statue on the occasion of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. He will also attend a function, marking the 75th anniversary of an Odia daily newspaper at Indoor Stadium in Cuttack.

Later, in the day Amit Shah is scheduled to visit the State BJP office in Odisha Capital, where he will meet senior party leaders. In the evening, he will attend a book reading of Modi@20 at Mayfair Convention here before flying back to Delhi.
