Sand Art Tribute to Visionary Business Leader OP Jindal on his 92 Birth Anniversary by Renowned Artist Sudarshan Pattnaik in Odisha’s Puri

Puri: Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sand art of visionary industrialist, philanthropist and founder of OP Jindal Group Shri Om Prakash Jindal and paid a poignant tribute to the legendary Business Leader at Beach in Puri.

Om Prakash Jindal popularly known as O.P. Jindal, was born in Hisar, Haryana on August 7, 1930. He established a successful business enterprise Jindal Steel and Power under the flagship of the Jindal Organization, of which he was the chairman.

OP Jinadal was one of few visionary leaders who knew where he wanted to go and how to get there.

As successful leaders move confidently toward their goals by initiating the action and getting others to buy in on their beliefs. In short, they believe in themselves, and others believe in them, too. The result is camaraderie, shared goals, and improved morale. OP Jinadal had all those qualities.

As a Visionary leader who had inspired those around him because he had thought long and hard about where he wanted to go and how to get there.

OP Jindal was awarded the “LifeTime Achievement Award” for his outstanding contribution to the Indian Steel Industry by the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry in November,2004.

He died in a helicopter crash on 31 March 2005.

Jindal won the Hisar Legislative Assembly seat of Haryana three times consecutively and was appointed Minister of Power in the Government of Haryana

Jindal was elected to the Haryana Vidhan Sabha in February 2005 and was the Minister of Power in the Government of Haryana at the time of his death

His four sons, Prithviraj Jindal, Sajjan Jindal, Ratan Jindal and Naveen Jindal now run the steel and power empire. While his son Naveen Jindal was a member of the Parliament of India, Lok Sabha from Kurukshetra, Haryana in the 14th and 15th Lok Sabha. He currently serves as the Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power Limited and Chancellor of O. P. Jindal Global University.

Jindal steel and power posted its first profit in 15 quarters on June,2018 and beat analysts.

Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) reported a net profit of Rs 2,566.7 crore on a consolidated basis in the quarter ended December 31. It had incurred Rs 218.6-crore loss in the corresponding quarter a year ago.

Recently, Savitri Jindal, the Emeritus Chairperson of the OP Jindal Group has replaced Yang Huiyan as Asia’s richest woman, Yang Huiyan lost more than half of her wealth following China’s property crisis. Huiyan, who controls China’s largest real estate developer Country Garden Holdings, saw her total wealth drop to $11 billion from nearly $24 billion last year.
