Odisha Govt Presents Rs 1.39 Lakh Crore Budget for 2019=20 Fiscal Year

Bhubaneswar:Odisha Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari on Friday presented the annual Budget of Odisha for 2019-20 financial year in the State Assembly here estimating a total outlay of Rs 1, 39,000 crore.

Odisha’s economy is expected to grow at the rate of 8.35% in 2018-19 surpassing all India growth rate of 7.2%, said Finance Minister Pujari while presenting the annual budget.

While the administrative expenditure stands at Rs 57,310 crore including salaries, pension, interest payment and maintenance of capital assets, Rs 70,600 crore has been allocated for Programme Expenditure.

Highest allocation of Rs 20,714 crore has been made for Agriculture and allied sectors, followed by Rs 18,419 crore for Panchayati Raj Department and Rs 16,400 crore for School & Mass Education Department

While Presenting the Agriculture Budget first, the Finance Minister said, “We are the only State in the country to have doubled farmers’ income in real times during 2003 to 2013. To further accelerate agricultural prosperity, reduce poverty and to bring about all-round development of the farmers through different welfare measures, the State has introduced ‘Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation’- KALIA during the financial year 2018-19.”

ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare– Rs 3622.84 crore

Health and Family Welfare– Rs 6782.85 crore.

Housing and Urban Development– Rs 5578.70 crore.

Water Resources– Rs 9713.43 crore.

 Rural Development– Rs 5530.09 crore.

Women & Child Development and Mission Shakti– Rs 3457.28 crore.

Disaster Management– Rs 4706.58 crore.
