Odisha to Auction 47 Mining Blocks by March’20-Minister Prafulla Mallick

Bhubaneswar:Odisha government has already started process for auctioning 47 mines in the State before March 2020, Steel & Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallik said on Tuesday

Mallik also assuage fears that lapse of leases of 24 operational mines in 2020 would affect industry and production.

The minister said out of the 40 mining blocks, the licences of 24 will expire in 2020 and they will be re-auctioned. The other 16 blocks will be auctioned for the first time.

“The mines to be put up for auction include 24 operational mines whose leases will lapse in 2020 and 16 new ones and the seven already assigned to SBI Capital Markets Ltd (SBICAP) for auctioning,” he elaborated.
