Smart City to Have Smart Parks,CM Inaugurates Smart Park at Saheed Nagar

Bhubaneswar:With the inauguration of new Smart Parks in Saheed Nagar, the capital city has moved an inch closer towards becoming a model township. The citizen-friendly park with state-of-the-art facilities for a relaxing time was inaugurated by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today.

Six neighbourhood parks in the Saheed Nagar area have been redesigned as interactive play spaces for children. Four of these colony parks, located on a single stretch and separated with by-lanes, were taken up for re-development as a single play cum activity space. It has four theme zones namely Get Creative, Get Rest, Get Smart and Get Wet.

The BDA-OMC Park in Saheed Nagar has also been re-developed based on ‘Get Fit’ theme. The redesigned park will have safe spaces for toddlers with facilities like rubber flooring, natural mounds, fitness zones, and health pockets for health check-up.

The parks will be functional from morning 5 am to 10 am, and evening 4 pm to 9 pm, providing the perfect recreational space both for children and adults. The parks are also equipped with WiFi connection, which is a first in the State. Jungle Gyms, Basketball Courts, and an Open Air Gallery with eye-catching wall graffiti amid lush green lawns are few of the attractions in these parks.

BMC Commissioner, BDA Vice-Chairman & Bhubaneswar Smart City SPV MD Krishan Kumar said, “The foundation stone for these parks had been laid down a year back. Today, we have successfully completed the work and have dedicated the new smart parks for the people of the area.”

Moving towards its smart goals, the Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) also its avant-garde Bhubaneswar Operations Centre (BOC) inaugurated today that will help in the thorough operation of various services in the State Capital.
