Bhubaneswar: National Aluminum Company Limited(Nalco) director finance Sridhar Patra has been selected for the top post of Nalco. The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on Wednesday has selected Patra for the Nalco CMD post of the public sector aluminum behemoth from among the other contenders.
Patra will succeed Tapan Kumar Chand as the Navratna PSU’s CMD, Patra comes with a rich and varied experience of over 30 years covering various PSUs like Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd., Indian Rare Earths Ltd. and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd
Patra,joined Nalco on September 1, 2018. Nalco under Patra as finance director has achieved a spectacular growth in posting profit. The company’s profit in Q1 FY 20 has surged by 29% to Rs 1732 crore, the best ever in a decade.
A graduate in Commerce from Utkal University, Patra is a Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He completed his MBA (HRD) from Vidya Sagar University in Midnapur and has contributed as an academician apart from his professional employment in PSUs
