Red Ultras Torch Vehicles, Put Up Banner At Country Liquor Factory In Koraput

Koraput:Suspected members of outlawed CPI (Maoist) group set at least three vehicle to fire and put up a banner at a liquor production unit in Pottangi area of Koraput district last night.

The attack took place late in the night with the involvement of a group of armed Maoists who barged into the unit and resorted to vandalising the property after threatening the staff.

A four-wheeler and two motorcycles were found completely gutted inside the liquor manufacturing unit this morning. Besides, a poster with a threat to close the factory was found on its main gate.

Before leaving the spot they hung a red banner with messages written in white ink to the main gate of the unit premise. “Close the liquor unit immediately, else you will face dire consequences,” the post read.

However, the banner didn’t bear the name of any Maoist Committee or signatory.

Police had reached the spot and started Investigation
