Baripada:A constable of 5th Battalion OSAP in Baripada of Mayurbhanj district has been hospitalised after being thrashed by his senior officers.The incident is of Saturday.
The injured constable has been identified as Kalicharan Kisku.
As per a complaint lodged by Kalicharan’s family at the Baripada Sadar Police Station, during his guard duty today afternoon Kalicharan had visited a shop near the battalion to drink water.
Assistant Commandant Goranga Sahu spotted him at the shop and questioned him that why he has left his post. Goranja further called some other officers and thrashed Kalicharan at the spot.
On getting information, Kalicharan’s family members reached the spot and immediately took him to Baripada DHH Hospital. His elder brother has demanded that stringent action should be taken against the erring officers.
