On the Occasion of 40th Foundation Day, Nalco Honors, Achievers from various fields

Bhubaneswar: Navratna CPSE National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) on Tuesday conferred prestigious Awards to artists, institutions, NGOs and eminent scholars to promote Odissi dance, contribution towards rehabilitation of differently-abled persons and for propagating Sanskrit literature, to mark the 40thFoundation Day Celebrations, at Nalco Nagar, Bhubaneswar. 

Inspired by the rich contribution in promoting and teaching Sanskrit literature, the Company awarded the ‘NALCO Kalidas Awards’ to Shri Prof Prafulla Kumar Mishra and Prof Raghunath Panda.

For their significant achievements and contributions to Odissi Dance,NALCO ‘Kharavela Awards (Guru)’were bestowed on Shri Bharat

Charan Giri and Ms.Rupashree Mohapatra, while Shri Gaurishankar Dash and Ms. Manjushree Panda was conferred with‘NALCO Kharvela Awards (Dancer)’.

Besides ‘NALCO Smiles Award’ was awarded to Ganjam Orthopedically Handicapped Welfare Associationfor their efforts towards resettlement and rehabilitation of differently-abled children/persons. All the awardees were honoured with a cash award and citation. 

Addressing the occasion, Shri Sridhar Patra, CMD, NALCO praised all the awardees for their significant contributions in various fields and highlighted the company’s vision stepping on to the 40th year of its operations. Shri Patra said, ‘’NALCO has come a long way over the last 4 decades. We celebrate the Foundation Day to rejoice our association with the organization and also to renew our commitment to help the Company soar to greater heights of glory. I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to the makers of NALCO and congratulate all my fellow Nalconians who have worked hard all these years to make NALCO a formidable corporate entity of our Nation.’’
