Union Minister Smriti Irani Arrives In Bhubaneswar to observe Black Day-Emergency 1975

Bhubaneswar: Union Textiles Minister Smriti Zubin Irani arrived in Bhubaneswar on a one-day visit to Odisha on Tuesday morning.

After arriving at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar at 9 am, she went to the Bunakar (weavers) Seva Kendra at Saheed Nagar.

Later, she went to Hotel New Marrion where she attended a meeting of the senior citizens,Sikh Community members and intellectuals at 11 am.

She also addressed Press Conference in state BJP Office at 1:00pm

She narrated how the Congress had murdered democracy by imposing Emergency across the country.

The saffron leader also asked the party activists to highlight how the Emergency was the darkest period of independent India.

Later on the day, Irani will take part at ‘Sampark for Samarthan’ (Contact for Support) programme at 4.30 pm. She is scheduled to return to Delhi in the evening, said BJP spokesperson Golak Prasad Mohapatra.
