Nayagarh:In a Shocking Incident a English teacher was allegedly tied to a tree,thrashed and was garlanded with a string of chappals and shoes by the owner of a coaching centre in Kantilo area of Odisha’s Nayagarh district recently for asking to clear his dues.
The incident reportedly took place on June 5 and came to fore recently after a video of the act was posted by the accused on social media, following which the clip went viral.
Notably, Mayadhar taught in a private coaching centre named Satya Sai Tutorial owned by Tapan Mohapatra. Even after months of teaching there, he did not receive his salary. His repeated requests went into deaf ears. So he decided to quit it and join another coaching centre. This step irked the owner and he decided to teach the teacher a lesson.
On June 5, Tapan called the teacher to a secluded place and with the help of some of his friends, tied him to a banyan tree, gagged him, garlanded him with a string of chappals and shoes and even thrashed him. Moreover, he filmed the whole act and made it viral on the social media.
Tapan Mohapatra went absconding after the victim lodged a police complaint. Till last reports came in, efforts were on by police to nab him. The coaching centre has been sealed by the cops.
