Cobra Rescued From hospitals in Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj

Panic gripped as the patients dreaded the sight of the cobra at the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Odisha’s Bhadrak this morning as a cobra was spotted inside the female ward of the medical.

On being informed, a Snake Helpline member reached the spot and rescued the snake. Soon after, normality was restored in the hospital.

Meanwhile, the rare sighting of a cobra in safe and sterile conditions of a hospital has become the talk of the town.

However, many such cases have been reported in the past one month. Recently, 19 more Indian Cobra hatchlings were rescued and 21 eggs were recovered from a house in Nalanga village under Gelapur panchayat here on Wednesday.

In a similar incident, a Forsten’s cat snake was today rescued from Rangamatia community health centre in Baripada of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.

The reptile, around 6 feet in length, was initially spotted over the air conditioner of a doctor’s chamber. A local snake charmer rescued the animal and released it into a nearby forest.
