Explosion in Odisha School leaves 2 students critical

Ganjam:Two students were injured in a crude bomb blast in an upper primary school at Magura village in Ganjam district’s Aska block on Saturday morning. The victims were rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Aska in critical condition.

 However, they were referred to shift MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur

As per Reports, a student found a bundle of copper inside a glass bottle lying on the school ground. As he picked up the bottle, it suddenly went off. As a result, his left hand was badly injured. Another student standing close to him sustained multiple injuries on his face.

It was discovered that the object was an explosive used in stone quarry for mining purposes.

According to sources, one of the victim student belonged to family members of Stone quarry ,he had took the Explosives alongwith Battery for experimenting inside school resulting in causing such incident.However the police is yet to give it’s report

The incident that happened in school,I have just got the primary report,Actually those students were Experimenting (with the explosion),somehow they had acquired the explosion.they had came along Battery,they have been shifted to MKCG Medical college.We are inquiring how they got the explosion,if it is available through illegal means then we will take action, said Collector Ganjam Bijay Amrit Kolange
