Angul: In yet another case man animal conflict in the State, a wild elephant trampled a woman to death in Pratappur village under Handapa police limits in Angul district today.
The deceased has been identified as Manjulata Sahu (55) of the same locality.
Reportedly, the woman identified as Manjulata Sahu was sweeping her house verandah when the elephant caught her by its trunk and threw her on the ground, killing her on the spot.
Tension erupted in the area after the irate locals blocked National Highway 55 demanding compensation for family of the deceased.
