Bhubaneswar: , Odisha government today distributed free laptops to Plus II pass out meritorious students under Biju Sashaktikaran Yojana.
A total of 15,000 students successfully cleared the annual +2 examination in different streams including Science, Arts, Commerce and vocational courses has been selected to get free laptops under the scheme for the year 2019-20.
Till date, as many as 90,203 students have been covered under the scheme.
This year meritorious students have been selected at the district level by a selection committee constituted by the government.
This method has been adopted over the earlier selection process to give better representation of meritorius students of all 30 districts of the State.
This year, the students have been provided with Lenovo laptops at a cost of Rs 29, 554 each.
